My 10 Favorites to visit in my neighborhood Småland Sweden

Of course when you like nature you always can walk or bike around in the area where you are, enjoy the views on the lakes, take a boat or start grilling somewhere. But when you want to see typical Swedish places or enjoy something special, I
can recommend these places because I like them very much.

OBS: The only thing you always should do it to check times of opening. Because it is very common to close restaurants in summer time or only to have opened in the holiday time of the Swedes.

Special Fishing Spots?
A lot of lakes in the neighborhood: Flyxen, Bolmen, Flåren, Vidöstern or choose the river Lagan, a real trout and salmon river. But: Don't forgot to buy a license for each of them!

Walking tips
I'm very happy to walk long distance paths. I started a part in Kalmar (Kalmarsundleden), we walked from Helsingborg to Sofiero Slott (around 6 km's) and we walked a part of Bohusleden in Göteborg (from Mölndal till Bratås). I can really recommend these parts. It is close to the cities and easy to go to the start and come back by public transport.

Cycling routes
Actually I never cycle but when you like it you can experience and explore Småland region very well while cycling. Echte fietsroutes zijn Bolmenrunt en Sverigeleden. Maar je vind ze in elke regio, zie de linkjes onderstaand.

What is gardenista?

What is gardenista?

It is all about experiencing green in a big context. Not only about gardening in a modern way, also about a mindful experience. Feeling, tasting, seeing and enjoying nature. Like cooking from the garden, looking for eatable plants, berries or mushrooms. Tasting groceries, admiring floral art and travel around to find nice places in which you can reload. Like taking a walk in the woods around you, visiting a botanical garden in the middle of a busy city or just have a Swedish fika (coffee and cake) in a vintage garden cafe. You can refill your battery when opening your senses, feel the warmth, smell the flowers, open your eyes for beautiful colors and fill your heart with it. Come home with yourself. Feel your senses again. In a natural environment for natural inspiration, decoration and design for your own life, kitchen or vintage garden. Color your life again.

I finally found the word that is covering the content of my weblog. It is about the things what make me very happy. For me it is the way to enjoy life 💖, I like to share it with you.

About me

Hello, so nice you are visiting my blog. I'm Brun Arntz. Since 2016 I'm living on the countryside in Småland Sweden. I'm working on a lot of creative projects. My biggest project is my dream was to create a big garden, with a nice natural design filled with self grown flowers with my green fingers. As you can reed in my blog, I'm still working on this project now. It makes my happy to live so close to nature, to go with the flow. It brings me a lot of balance in my life. Another project is to be creative with natural materials to make home and garden decorations. For Christmas, Wintertime, Eastern, Spring or just a normal day. That gives me a lot of spirit! Or in wintertime I try to renew old stuff. It is easy to scoren some old furniture in a famous Swedish loppis (Secondhand). Of course with nice colors in the Scandinavian style, light, simply and natural. Specially green, of course... Now I'm dreaming to have a typical Swedish Trädgårdscafe where people can have Swedish Fikatime (time for having coffee and cakes) with a lot of places to sit somewhere in a very nice garden. But the Coronavirus disturbed my planning....but maybe next spring? Great that you want to follow some my projects. I hope it will give you good spirit and inspiration too. Greetings from Brün

My garden

Once upon a time there was a very nice garden around Stegaryd Sjöbygget Gamla Skola. After the school was closed in the 50's the new owner started creating a garden around the place. The place was well known in the surroundings to be full of flowers and the lady was always working in the garden (a little bit like me now, just because I like it so much). When she got too old the house was sold as a summerhouse, the garden was not longer taken care of. When we came, in 2016, we started to clean up and recover what once was there. Because gardening, designing, creating and growing plants is my passion and love. The goal is to create a natural garden with grandma's plants and some prairiegarden influences. After 5 years, we are not ready yet but a lot of heavy work is done now. It's starting to be a nice garden again. Judge it yourself on my weblog.
